Tiananmen pedestrian walkway brick will spray anti-chewing gum coating

Near the "11" National Day, the city's environmental sanitation is in full swing. The reporter learned from the municipal municipal city committee that the pedestrian walkway surrounding Tian’anmen will be coated with a brand new paint that will be able to resist the contamination of juices and oil stains, and that even particularly difficult to remove chewing gum will not be easy to glue.

According to Xie Guomin, Director of the Sanitation and Management Division of the Municipal Municipal Committee of the Municipal Municipality, during the “11th” period, the flow of people in Tian’anmen and nearby areas was as high as 1 million people per day. The number of sanitation workers responsible for Tian’anmen Square will increase from more than 100 to 460 people.

This year, in order to allow Tiananmen Square to meet the high standards of "sitting on the ground," several large-scale sweepers have "washed several times in the showers" around Tiananmen Square. During the National Day holiday, Tiananmen will also arrange special personnel and special facilities to implement 24-hour high-standard sanitation operations. Tiananmen Square and surrounding areas will be cleared of roads at any time for cleanliness, clean up of green areas, cleaning of public facilities, and trash discarded by visitors. More than 10 minutes will remain on the ground floor.

In order to solve the problem of tourists going to the toilets, Tiananmen set up 18 public toilets and 599 toilet seats during the National Day this year, an increase of 119 toilet seats from last year. At the same time, from Dongdan to Xidan, the number of signs for public toilets will be increased to ensure that public toilets can be easily found every 20 meters.

The reporter learned that the footpath tiles around Tiananmen Square, which had just been replaced before the 11th, will be coated with brand-new paint. This kind of paint can protect trail bricks from erosion by juices, oil stains, etc. Even chewing gum will not stick to them. From May of this year, sanitation workers of the Tiananmen City Sanitation Team used a new thin-wire electric brush to clear chewing gum stains on the square. During the “11” period, sanitation workers will also be equipped with mini-loudspeakers while cleaning the square. Equipment, to promote environmental protection to tourists.
