Obesity is higher in boys than in girls, research shows

A Statistics Canada report found that nearly a third of young people in Canada are classified as overweight or obese. Three times as many boys in Canada are more likely to be obese than girls, according to new research, which exposes the gender difference in childhood obesity rates in shocking and progressive countries.
A new Statistics Canada report found that 19.5% were obese, compared with boys aged 5 to 11 and 6.3% of girls of the same age. Experts say that it has long been recognized that obesity tends to have a higher incidence of boys than girls. I do not remember that the level is three times higher than we can see here.
Overall, the study found that nearly one-third of young people, 31.5% or 1.6 million young people in Canada, were classified as overweight or obese. The study was based on the actual measurement of height and weight of 2,123 children and adolescents in Canada, between the ages of 5 and 17, 2009 and 2011. Although the estimates have not changed significantly in the past decade, the authors say that more research is needed to determine if obesity is slowing down at a fast pace to know. “Anyway, the estimates are still high and there is a public health problem, excess weight in childhood trends, persisting into adulthood,” they write.
Excess weight is increasingly being hung in childhood abuse and only occurs in adults, including "adult type 2 diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, abnormal coagulation, thickening of arteries and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Studies have shown that teenagers who are overweight have a 14-fold increased risk of having a heart attack, children with obesity also have higher levels of depression and low self-esteem, and they are more likely to be teased or bullied at school.
In a study published two years ago, more than 60% of 860 pediatricians and family doctors surveyed in Canada had parents who were overweight and fundamentally deterred to curb the number of overweight children during the growth process.
