The overflow tailings cannot be dammed, and the quarrying and damming is required. The cost is high, and the fine-grained overflow tailings pollute the environment. Filling with full tailings can avoid and improve the above problems. HONGTOUSHAN copper mine had used the whole tailings backfill mined-out area, and achieved good results. The difficulty of filling the whole tailings is the settlement and dewatering of the fine-grained tailings. Ideally, a high-concentration homogenized stream is transported downhole on the ground without dehydration in the well. At present, it is mainly used for post-filling of goafs.
