1 Network Composition The Jiangsu Power Data Network is a component of the National Power Data Network (SPDnet) [1]; referred to as SPDnet-IIIJS. It is the "highway" of Jiangsu's power system data, voice and video communications integrated services.

Jiangsu power data network is divided into backbone exchange layer and access layer. The backbone switching layer includes the headquarters of the Jiangsu Electric Power Company and all 13 regional power supply companies. It selects the Northern Telecom Passport 15000 as the backbone ATM switching device, with a switching capacity of 40 GB, a trunk bandwidth of 622 Mbit/s, and a Passport 7480 as the backbone node service access device. The access layer consists of 500kV substations and major power plants in Jiangsu Power Grid. Passport 5430 was chosen to access nearby backbone nodes through 2Mbit/s ATM trunks according to the principle of nearest access.

2 Networking Technology The high reliable broadband, high performance, and multi-service network platform built on the basis of the original Jiangsu power communication network, using ATM switching technology, using "ATMOver fiber" method, plus multiple microwave inversion The multiplexed relays ensure that important services are bypassed.

a. Optical amplification technology: Jiangsu Power Data Network adopts optical fiber power amplification and pre-amplification, and solves the problem of long-distance driving without increasing the line power amplification equipment. The longest jump can reach 230km. Using this method not only saves a large amount of investment in establishing an optical fiber SDH network, but also brings convenience to the smooth upgrade of network relay bandwidth in the future.

b. Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology: The Jiangsu Power Data Network supports MPLS across the entire network. MPLS derives from the need for ATM to transmit IP data and adopts ATM's efficient transmission and exchange. It forwards labels based on fixed length, simplifies the forwarding mechanism, and greatly improves the transmission efficiency of IP over ATM.

C. Virtual private network (abbreviated as VPN) technology: Jiangsu power data network supports end-to-end VPN, effectively separating multiple IP services at layer 2 of the OSI seven-layer model (data link layer), ensuring The independence and security of the IP service.

3 Network Application With the development of the power system reform and the gradual establishment of the electricity market, the power industry has put forward many higher requirements for the application of information technology. The requirements for network services are characterized by multiple levels, high bandwidth, and high reliability. After the completion of the Jiangsu Power Data Network, the network application has been rapidly developed.

3.1 Scheduling 1P Application VPN technology is a connection method that uses a public network to remotely access a private intranet. During the implementation of the IP business, Jiangsu Power Data Network built a VPN for real-time control services (real-time VPN) and a VPN for power dispatch production management service (DMISVPN) using the IP VPN function provided by the Northern Telecom Passport 7480 switch. Real-time data (including control information) and power dispatch production management information are effectively isolated at the second layer of the OSI seven-layer model. This implementation is different from the VPN implementation in which routers rely on route forwarding and access control. The real-time VPN and DMIS VPN bandwidth and VPN security are fully guaranteed. Based on this, Passport's MPLS function is used to achieve efficient IP data communication.

The scheduling real-time system of each node directly accesses the real-time VPN through the network communication workstation, adopting IEC60870-6TASE. 2 Agreements for real-time data communication between provincial and local EMS/SCADA systems [2]; work of online RTU information for power plants and 500kV substations is being carried out directly through the Internet. The DMIS of each access node is isolated through a firewall and accessed to the DMIS VPN. This implements the DMIS interconnection of the dispatching system across the province, establishes the DMIS website of the province, and launches grid dispatch information release, power generation plan query, power report, and electric energy billing. 3.2 Voice Networking The Jiangsu Power Data Network supports dynamic networking of voices and uses advanced signalling analysis methods to achieve interoperability between administrative switches and ATM switches [1]. The Provincial Power Company and the 13 regional power supply company's administrative switchboards all connected to the Passport 7480 through a 2Mbit/s digital interface to form a voice network between the provincial power company and the regional power company. Except the SIEMENS switchboard of the Suqian city power supply company and the NORTEL switchboard of the Xuzhou City power supply company, they use the R2+DTMF signaling to implement interconnection with the ATM switch. All other switches are HARRIS switches and use Q-SIG signaling.

The dynamic routing is realized through the analysis of speech signalling of the Passport switch. Each 2Mbit/s interface of the program control switch can support the dial-in and call-out of 30 voice channels at the same time, which changes the traditional way of fixed allocation of voice channels, and also has two program controls. Voice communications between switches are directly exchanged, without having to go through provincial company routing.

3.3 Video Conferencing The videoconferencing equipment of Jiangsu Provincial Electric Power Company's headquarters and 13 regional power supply companies are interconnected through the ATM network. Jiangsu Provincial Electric Power Company's multi-point control unit and conference terminal equipment, using H. The 321 protocol accesses the Jiangsu power data network through a 155 Mbit/s optical interface, and establishes a connection to the SVC through a call. Each connection actually occupies a bandwidth of 2 Mbit/s, and the bandwidth is released immediately after the conference ends. Because of the QoS guarantee of ATM, it not only guarantees the low latency and high-definition performance requirements of the video conference, but also saves network bandwidth resources. The ATM switch (CISCO8540) is connected to the Passport 15000 through a 155 Mbit/s optical interface. The Jiangsu Power Data Network provides a 155 Mbit/s PVP channel. The power company's Internet is networked in this way, achieving transparent transmission of information, having its own ATM signaling and ATM addresses, forming a reasonable network topology, ensuring the independence of corporate Internet services, and meeting the corporate networking requirements of the Internet. .
