Sinopec Corp. recently announced that the 300,000-ton/year vinyl acetate project methanol plant of the group’s Sichuan Vinylon plant will produce qualified products, marking the successful completion of the project’s full-fledged drive. It is reported that the total investment of the vinyl acetate project of the Sichuan Wei factory is 5.28 billion yuan, and the main equipment includes 100,000 tons/year of acetylene, 300,000 tons/year of vinyl acetate, 100,000 tons/year of polyvinyl alcohol, and 770,000 tons/year of methanol. After the project is put into production, the SVW plant will have a capacity of 500,000 tons/year of vinyl acetate and a capacity of 160,000 tons/year of polyvinyl alcohol, making it the first in the country and the second largest producer in the world for vinyl acetate and polyvinyl alcohol.
