Benefits of the Star Delta Starter Cabinet: For the normal operation of the stator wire set for the delta-connected squirrel cage asynchronous motor, the stator windings are star-connected at start-up and then connected after starting to complete a triangle to achieve reduced start-up. The current reduces the impact on the grid. This starting method is called the star-delta step-down starting (Y-â–³), and the motor with more than 15KW can start with the star-delta step-down. Star Delta start-up equipment (control cabinets) generally use a standby control, mutual backup, fault automatic input.

The Atlantic pump industry is equipped with control equipment (control cabinets) that are factory commissioned and tested to be factory-ready.
The junction box of the three-phase squirrel-cage asynchronous motor is opened and removed (U1, V1, W1, U2, V2, W2 as above). The connecting piece of the terminal forms 6 terminals and the control device (star-delta control cabinet) reserved Terminal (row) corresponding connection (U1, V1, W1, U2, V2, W2 as above) is connected firmly.
Check whether the pump and control equipment (star delta starter cabinet) wires are firmly connected before startup or operation, if there is any looseness, and check whether there is water in the piping (open the water outlet vent hole of the water pump for water flow).
After the inspection, operate or start the control equipment under the safe voltage condition to see if the pump motor produced by the Atlantic pump industry is rotating (positive) or reversed. If there is a reverse rotation, replace the motor or the control cabinet connecting cable (U1, W2) phase , (V1, U2) One phase, (W1, V2) One phase or exchange the incoming power line.
If the outlet pressure gauge is under 0 pressure condition, the outlet valve should be closed or closed by 2/3 to avoid excessive current during start-up, which will affect the normal operation of the pump. If the current is too high, frequent start-up can easily cause short circuit of the motor coil. The star current drops steadily and then the outlet valve is opened by 2/3. The required head and pressure of the control operation are completed. The outlet valve is opened to 2/3 without any further operation.
The choice of cable should be matched with the motor power. The current-carrying capacity (safety current) of various conductors is not the same in the environment temperature and other factors. The aluminum conductor and the copper conductor are not the same, so we use it for the pump. Copper wire is generally selected (for example) 16 mm2 copper wire at 25 °C under the same conditions to withstand the current at (100A).
Take the star delta starter motor (22KW) current (44A) produced by Atlantic Pump as an example. The actual operation must be a trigonometric operation to reach the rated value, and the phase current flowing through the motor line group is equal to the line current (44A) ÷ 1.732 = 25.4A. When the delta-operated motor is running in a star connection, the line current is equal to the phase current, so the starting current is 25.4 A to multiply by the starting multiple instead of 44 A to calculate the starting current.
The cable selection is based on the actual long-term current of the load, not according to the starting current. Therefore, the cable started by the star delta should be considered in terms of 25.4A (22KW star delta control motor), but the power bus must be considered as 44A (22KW motor).
