· Suspected of the problem of seat belt pretensioner, Mercedes-Benz recalled nearly 20,000 cars
Mercedes-Benz will recall 20,779 vehicles from March 9, 2018, some of which will be imported S-class, C-class, GLC from July 28, 2016 to December 12, 2016, and the other part will be October 12, 2016. C-class, GLC produced from February 13th, 2017.
The reason for the recall is that some of the vehicles in the pre-seat belt pretensioner do not meet the requirements due to the manufacturer's production deviation, resulting in the front seat belt pretensioner may not work properly. In the event of a vehicle collision, if the seat belt pretensioner cannot be activated, its auxiliary protection function cannot be realized, which increases the risk of passenger injury and presents a safety hazard. Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. and Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will replace the affected seat belts for free within the recall range to eliminate potential safety hazards.
